The Divine Feminine

    Some of you may have heard of the Divine Feminine, and some of you may have not. In this piece of my writing you'll learn a bit about what it is if you haven't learned from other sources already, and even if you already have some knowledge about it, you might gain a new perspective. The Divine Feminine can take on many forms of experience, and people of all genders can experience this energy in their own unique ways.

    Every human being on this Earth is made up of a mixture of different polarities including masculine and feminine energy, shadow and light (the unconscious and the conscious mind), positive and negative, and so on. The vast majority of people will contain more of one energy than the other when it comes to masculine vs feminine energy, but both energies will always be present. This is demonstrated through the yin yang symbol, which symbolizes the balance of different polarities throughout the universe. The white side, yang, represents masculine energy, and the black side, yin, represents feminine energy. All energy in the universe is Divine, because the entire universe is an infinite expanse of creation, evolution, and novelty. 

    Masculine energy is a beautiful driving force that lights people up, and gives them a certain type of confidence, courage, and strength that allows them to succeed. It's a powerful inner glow that provides people with the ambition to take the action needed to achieve their goals. It is planning, strategy, and a steadfast protection of self and others that comes from within.

    Feminine energy is different. Feminine energy is powerful because it doesn't have to move in the world with outward action or force, although it is an energy that moves. You've probably heard of or read the concept about The Divine Masculine being the push and The Divine Feminine being the pull. This is very accurate, but push and pull are words that aren't really understood unless they're experienced and understood viscerally. 

    Sometimes the Divine Feminine can be felt through the heart, in the presence of loved ones, sometimes she can be experienced through simplicity, like taking in the beautiful scenery of a redwood forest, and other times through the alignment and flow with life we can find by being truly present and when we are fully ourselves. And in many other ways as well.

    While Divine Feminine energy can show up in many different ways, the way I have found that is the simplest and fastest way to tap into the energy itself, although this may not sound like the smartest option to your logical mind, is through radical acceptance and surrender. So many of us fight against the currents of our lives, and some of us do it more than others. Living through difficult circumstances for long periods of time can cause even the people who used to have the most easygoing temperaments to fight for control or cling onto it, at least when they feel like they really need to, and it might not necessarily serve them.

    This is a very human reaction, since we have to learn how to anticipate, react in intelligent ways to our surroundings, and survive. Those with anxiety disorders like GAD and OCD, and trauma survivors will really know what I'm talking about when I say this. Even those who haven't been diagnosed or don't identify with certain disorders or a history of personal trauma can most likely relate. 

    Humanity has been facing some very challenging times for the past 6 years, and even well before this, but a lot of human darkness and corruption has been brought to the surface and practiced much more openly in these recent years. It's pretty hard to ignore, or at least not feel the impact of in some sense, unless you happen to be particularly high in status. Even in that case, I'm sure the people who are higher up on this hierarchy can sense some of the heaviness in the atmosphere and operating in their own psyches, even if it's on a subconscious level.

    There's no one, single answer I can give for overcoming the hardwired instinct to hold onto control and attempt to manage outcomes that just aren't possible to manage. Everyone has to live through their own conditions and overcome their obstacles in their own personal timing. And of course, no one is behind on this. But once a person is ready to let go of what they cannot control, and empower themselves not only through the positive action they can take to change their lives, but in the surrender to life's rhythms, they are ready to embrace their feminine energy.

  This is particularly important for people with predominantly feminine energy. Usually this happens to be women (cis and trans alike), but men and nonbinary people can primarily have feminine energy as well. To resist your primary energy is to cut off the flow, or at least hinder the flow, of your life force. This blocks many opportunities and experiences and mostly the enjoyment of living, from reaching you. This goes for people who resist their masculine energy too, of course, but the feminine seems to be suppressed much more often in a mostly patriarchal world.

    Once you stop resisting your nature and your circumstances and everything that isn't yours to shoulder, you free yourself, and you help free others around you with your peace and your living example. Once you start to practice radical acceptance and surrender even in small steps, (not by passively allowing anyone to cross your boundaries or accept things you can actually do something about, of course), you empower yourself in a very distinct way. 

    You'll know Divine Feminine energy when you let go of what is unnecessary resistance and fruitlessness that drains your energy, and you start to remember what it's like to actually live again. Instead of doing everything you possibly can to get the people in your life to listen to you or cooperate with you, or exhausting yourself by pushing yourself past your limits to ensure your life goes exactly as planned, you do the most powerful thing a person can do, which is to let go and trust Life. 

    

    You decide what you need to do to protect yourself, meet your needs, and focus on what really matters. This could mean cultivating the healthy masculine energy within you to strike a beautiful balance between the push and the pull, but ultimately when you are in your feminine energy you won't need to force anything to happen. Life will happen for you, because you won't block it from reaching your awareness. You'll notice a lot more ease, joy, and genuine empowerment.

    The feminine is mindfulness. It is really experiencing the present as it is, without mentally traveling anywhere else, unless you're doing something fun like going along for the ride in a daydream or thinking of something funny that makes you laugh. It is listening not only to respond, but to experience someone else's expression and truth for the time being. It is letting yourself experience your own truth as well, and holding space for both to live harmoniously. 

    It is sitting with the moment and reflecting on what life just taught you, letting your mind wander, and weave in and out of the daydreams and the reflections it brings. It's noticing the bird that just flew by and the leaves on a tree moving in the wind. It's being so present with yourself and the moment that you harmonize with your surroundings enough for the wind to move a leaf off of the tree so it lands in your lap. A gift. And maybe a sign, depending on whether you choose to elaborate on it or not.

    The feminine can be both inspiration and creativity. Some people like to separate inspiration as the masculine and creativity as the feminine, or vice versa, and they can be accurately conceptualized in either of those ways for different reasons, but I think inspiration and creativity can both be feminine as well. It takes a receptive and flowing place for inspiration to come, and creation is of course a feminine act. 

    When you are in your feminine energy, and these ideas and insights come to you, it is because you are in a state of flow. Just like when you go about your life and start to notice all kinds of synchronicities because of that flow. The Universe begins to communicate with you because you are surrendering to it, and surrendering to yourself as an inherent part of it. The message lines open up. Your inner and outer world seem to align much more often, perfectly even. People and things and experiences find their way to you effortlessly. This is power. 

    The reason the Divine Feminine is Divine, is because it is the counterpart to another polarity, that when combined with itself, becomes duality. Duality is creation, and it is our world. Duality is what we come from and it is our essence. 

    When you are living in your Divine Feminine energy, when you remember you are here, right now, and everything and everyone is moving with you because you are a part of everything, the interconnectedness is simple, comforting, and it's just the truth. You are never alone. You are creation incarnate, and you are also a creator. You are a physical form that comes from Everything, and because of this you always belong. There's no forcing that. It just is. 

 

 

Hummingbirds

  While I was earthing at the park and praying to Mother Earth a little over a week ago, I got a confirmation that answered my prayers within minutes. I was sitting in front of a fountain with my feet on the earth, asking for healing and support, and it wasn't long before I saw a hummingbird to my left. She was checking out one of the plants on the other side of the fence and hovered for a while before taking off. It was long enough to feel like a strong confirmation and message of support that got my attention, and once I had some time to take in the message and feel answered, she flew away. 

I knew this was meant to be a synchronized and assuring communication from the Universe, that Mother Earth is going to continue to be a fundamental part of my healing through complex trauma and chronic illness. This has been one of many synchronicities I've been experiencing lately, along with a few different doves that keep showing up around my house and watching over it, especially during times of stress or worry, ravens visiting around the house as well and croaking or clicking to get my attention, and the occasional pairs of ravens and doves I spoke about in my previous post. These past several weeks have been a time of many synchronicities and confirmations for me, telling me that I'm on the right path and I'm exactly where I need to be. 

I also saw a bluebird shortly after seeing the hummingbird, perching on the fence across the grass, singing and looking directly at me for a few minutes, before she flew away. I decided that was an even stronger confirmation of support, and felt more reassurance than I did before. I'd like to add that I've had a few different experiences with birds where they look directly at me while they sing, which seems like a way to really show me that these messages are meant personally for me, and I can trust them wholeheartedly. 

Another message I've gotten from the hummingbird is that when we see hummingbirds, it can be a strong indication that our hearts are starting to open. The time before the last when I was sitting at the park and saw a hummingbird, I was sitting in my backyard again, earthing and letting myself enjoy nature and all the new serotonin I could feel flowing through me. I was letting daydreams come and go, and feeling this sense of peace and well-being, and creative energy, and I heard a hummingbird, again to my left, hovering above me. It was floating around this tall bush that grows behind the fence and staying, just like the one at the park, long enough for me to receive the message before flying away. 

I think this experience might have involved a bit more clairsentience than it did claircognizance, since I was able to feel it in my heart instead of just knowing what it meant. I was already feeling pretty connected to my heart, more than I've been in a while, and feeling joy and inspiration a lot more easily than I was for a long period of time. When I saw the hummingbird, it aligned with those feelings in that moment, and I felt a stronger sense of that warmth in my heart when it showed up. I knew the Universe was telling me that my heart is starting to open again, and with that heart opening has come a flow of creativity and inspiration. It's the reason I've been able to start this blog, and write poetry again.

So when you see a hummingbird, know that she may be telling you your heart is beginning to open, and your mind may be opening along with it to truths you're just beginning to discover, or to truths you honored in the past and buried for a long time until now. You are starting to let go of what made you feel heavy before, and becoming lighter and happier. She might also be saying that your creative energy is flowing freely, and ready to be put into whatever art form speaks to you. You could very well be connecting with the Divine Feminine energy within you. In my next post, I'll be writing about the Divine Feminine and what it means to me, and you'll be able to see my interpretation of what this energy involves for men, women, and nonbinary people, and the feelings, experiences, and abilities Divine Feminine energy brings with it. 

Ravens and Doves

 I'll start off by sharing a personal experience with you. In my experience, one of the major ways the Universe speaks to me is through spirit animals, and the animals that stand out to me the most happen to be birds. Specifically, ravens, crows, and doves. These birds tend to catch my attention and resonate with me the most, and I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this. I found after receiving information through claircognizance one day while I was sitting in my backyard, that ravens and doves in particular don't necessarily carry the traditional meanings they're associated with for everyone. 

Most people associate doves with peace, hope, purity, and the Heavens, and ravens with magic, transformation, the human shadow, and transmutation. While these meanings are perfectly relevant and probably align well with plenty of people who receive these messages and have them confirmed in their lives, I'd like to offer some alternative meanings for these birds.

Sometimes, especially for people who consider themselves contrarians or misfits, signs from the Universe can carry meanings that contrast with traditional ones. The information I received in my backyard in April contradicted what I previously learned about the spiritual meanings behind ravens and doves. While I used to associate doves with peace, hope, and a message from the Heavens and ravens with shadow work and transformation in more of a rigid sense, the messages I received regarding them changed the way I understand them.

What I learned is that even though doves can definitely symbolize peace and communication from light realms, for some people they can also be an indicator of profound spiritual growth and transformation. The time I heard and saw them the most frequently was during the aftermath of the biggest and potentially most fatal catalyst of my life. I was recovering from a major breakup and a devastating mental health crisis at the time, and was healing myself on deep mental and emotional levels, as well as dedicating myself to spiritual practices I followed with my intuition.

I was living in a place called Jamestown in the Sierra Nevada mountains. My mom was letting me stay in her apartment for several months while I recovered. During that time I heard and saw doves almost everyday, especially around the apartment and surrounding one of the roads in Jamestown which was a part of my walks. This was a time of healing, rebirth, and profound transformation for me. I was shedding a lot of old resentments, stagnant emotions, and ways of relating to the world that were unhealthy for me, as well as praying quite often to deities I never prayed to before, and Mother Earth and Creator, which I now call Source. I was leaving behind a lot of old habits, incorporating a healthy lifestyle into my days, and connecting with Mother Earth a lot, by earthing and communicating with trees. My path eventually led me back to Mendocino County, where I now live and which happens to be where I experienced my first major spiritual awakening at the age of 16.

As for ravens, these birds have followed and resonated with me for at least the past 8 years, and continue to do so. From what I've discovered, ravens definitely can symbolize shadow work and transformation, but the primary meaning they carry for me, and I sense for many other contrarians/misfits, is Divine protection. The energetic resonance I felt while one of them soared almost directly above me on that day in the backyard, while I was receiving all of these insights, was the type of resonance some people speak about after seeing a hawk fly over them, and strongly feel a sense of Divine protection. Divine protection means different things for different people, and I'll elaborate more on that in another post.

I also received some insights regarding pairs of doves and pairs of ravens. Since I happen to be on a journey that has possibly involved a few different soulmate connections, which have all given me different types of wisdom and growth on my journey, I happened to align with specific messages that pertain to pairings of these birds. 

A pair of doves is a confirmation that you and a Divine partner, or even counterpart if you believe in Twin Flames, are experiencing a Union or Sacred Marriage in the light realms, or what some people call the afterlife. Of course we know Divine partners are always and will always share a connection in other realms, and ultimately everywhere, but this serves as a loving reminder from Source that even if you feel rejected by or separated from a soulmate or your twin flame, you are connected; always have been, always will be.

A pair of ravens is a message that your Divine partner (whoever has been in your awareness the most recently or during the time you see them), is likely thinking of you and feeling love for you on Earth in this lifetime, and is also meant to remind you to do your inner work, whether that be shadow work, inner child work, or whatever calls to you personally, in order to integrate, heal, and grow on your human journey.
